First steps

Después de haber renegado con el teclado por al menos 20 minutos, pude encontrar como hacer un acento y escribir la ñ. Progreso. 

This will be an experiment, a writing experiment. A journal and a journey. 

Hace 7 años me fui de viaje con la intención de trabajar y conocer otros lugares, me fui legal, con papeles y todo y aún así fue difícil. 

Leaving a comfort zone was challenging but since then, I had to leave many more. And you get used to it. And after a while, you become better prepared.

Aprendí de todo y de todos, y hoy sigo aprendiendo. Quizás el aprendizaje mas valioso sea ese, nunca dejar de aprender. 

Some situations really tested me, I felt I was in the worst possible scenario and I was regretting taking the decision that brought me there. 


Ahí está, uno de los últimos vuelos directos de Aerolíneas de Buenos Aires a Sydney. Me acuerdo que fue un vuelo largo, muchas familias a bordo y pude ver algunos bloques de hielo flotando en el mar. Entiendo que fue un vuelo transpolar.

I've recently returned to teaching English to VYL (Very young learners) and I didn't want to be overwhelmed with all we had to face last year when we suddenly migrated online with little time for adaptation or training. Extrañar el barrio, extrañar los alrededores / To miss the neighbourhood, to miss the surroundings

The promenade (El paseo marítimo de) of Hòa Hiệp Nam, Đà Nẵng. Todos los días, en algún momento de la mañana, me siento en el balcón y miro la calle vacía. De vez en cuando pasa alguien en moto con una identificación colgada al cuello, van y vienen con verduras u otros encargos.  Every day at some point in the morning, I sit on the balcony to look at the empty street. Every once in a while, someone driving a motorbike goes by, with an identification card hanging from their neck. They come and go with veggies and other things. Pienso en las cosas que me gustaba conseguir de este barrio, nuevo para mí. La mujer que me vendía los cocos, el viejito que me vendía nước mía (Jugo de caña de azúcar) y el puesto de bánh bao (bolas de masa rellena hervida), la panadería, etcéteras. Fotos del celular en años Es interesante repasar las fotos del celular, casi 6 años de coleccionar imágenes de todo tipo. Ver desde una receta hasta mi sobrina más chica recién nacida.
