Es interesante repasar las fotos del celular, casi 6 años de coleccionar imágenes de todo tipo. Ver desde una receta hasta mi sobrina más chica recién nacida. Me copa ver y acordarme de fotos y por qué las saqué.

Mobile photos through the years

It is interesting to look at my phone photos, almost 6 years of  images of any kind. From a photo of a recipe to one of my youngest niece as a newborn. I love to look at a picture and remember why I took it.

Había vuelto a la casa de mis viejos, a mi provincia. No estaba muy motivado en hacer algo interesante, solo dejaba el tiempo pasar mientras se comía mis ahorros, tenía una idea en mente pero no encontraba como empezar. 

I was back at my parents' house in Jujuy, my province. I was not motivated in doing anything, just letting time pass by as I lived from my savings.

Por causalidad dos viajeros, Nicola y Uwe, escucharon algunas de mis ideas y sin dudarlo decidieron ayudarme. Solo tomó una búsqueda de google y ese fue el punto de partida. 

By chance two travellers, Nicola and Uwe heard some of my ideas and they decided to help me. A very short google search was the starting point.

Me recomendaron que tomara el curso de entrenamiento de enseñanza de inglés CELTA de Cambridge. 

They recommended me to take the Cambridge Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (CELTA)

Unos meses después estaba en Buenos Aires estudiando de nuevo después de mucho tiempo, aprendiendo un montón de cosas nuevas de gente muy interesante y lidiando con una gata que a veces no me dejaba concentrarme. 

A few months later I was in Buenos Aires, studying again after a long time of just working. I was learning lots from very interesting people and dealing with a demanding but loving cat.

Unos meses mas tarde me tomaba 6 aviones para llegar a Vinh, ciudad en Vietnam en la que viví dos años y aprendí no solo sobre enseñanza de un lenguaje sino muchísimas cosas mas. 

Going forward a few more months I was taking 6 flights to get to Vinh, a city in Vietnam where I lived for two years. Not only I've learned about teaching English but about lots of other things.

Después vino la pandemia, mucho encierro y frustración, también tiempo de reflexión y de fijar metas. Fue tiempo nuevamente de contactar a gente que pensé podía ayudarme. Así que decidí escribirles a Nicola y Uwe. No lo mencioné anteriormente pero ellos tienen un instituto a través del cual brindan distintos cursos. Then the pandemic hit, lockdown and frustration, also time to think and set goals. It was time to get in touch with people I thought could help. I decided to write an email to Nicola and Uwe. I didn't mention this before but they have an institute where they run different courses. Their website is in Spanish, English and German.

Por causa de diferentes factores decidí aprender sobre ayudar a los demás. Lo que mis tutores propusieron entonces fue que yo le ponga el valor al costo del curso y no solo eso, sino también que la forma de pagar sea invirtiendo en ayudar a los demás. 

Because of different reasons I decided to learn about helping others. My now coaches told me that it was for me to decide the rate of their coaching and the way of payment would be through giving back to the community.

Así que los últimos 8 meses mantuvimos sesiones semanales o semana de por medio durante las cuales me acompañaron en un proceso personal de cambio muy gratificante. A su vez, doné y aprendí sobre distintas organizaciones y las distintas realidades que encaran día a día. 

So for the last 8 months, we had weekly sessions during which they accompanied me in a very gratifying personal process of change. In turn, I donated and learned about differen organizations and the different situations they face every day.   

No hay nada mas importante en el cambio que el desafío y gracias a Nicola y Uwe puedo ver mi potencial. Hoy tengo diferentes metas y gracias a ellos, puedo ver mejor las herramientas con las que cuento para encararlas.   

There is nothing more important in change than challenge and thanks to Nicola and Uwe I can see my potential. Today I have different goals and thanks to them, I can appreciate the tools I have to face these new challenges.
